How to Brew the Perfect Cup with Zona Coffee Company Beans
There’s nothing quite like that first sip of coffee in the Arizona morning light. At Zona Coffee Company, we want you to get every drop of flavor out of our beans. Here’s a simple guide for brewing the perfect cup at home:
1️⃣ Use Fresh Beans
Start with whole Zona beans. Grind them right before brewing.
2️⃣ Measure Correctly
A standard ratio is 1:16 (1 gram of coffee for every 16 grams of water). About 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for every 6 oz of water.
3️⃣ Mind Your Water
Use filtered water. Arizona tap water has high mineral content, which can affect flavor. A basic filter works wonders.
4️⃣ Temperature Matters
Ideal water temperature: 195°F to 205°F. Don’t use boiling water—let it cool 30 seconds after boiling.
5️⃣ Brew Method
French Press, Pour-Over, or Drip—each brings out different qualities. Experiment to find your favorite!
6️⃣ Enjoy It Zona Style
Sip slowly. Pair it with a desert sunrise or a cool winter evening on the porch.

Why Arizona Water Changes Your Brew (and How to Fix It)
Arizona’s desert water is hard. Minerals like calcium and magnesium can alter your coffee’s flavor. Here's how to fix it:
Use a water filter. Even a simple Brita will improve the taste.Or buy bottled spring water. Many baristas do this for competitions.Bonus tip: If your coffee tastes flat or bitter, the water is often the culprit.
👉 Pro tip: Try Zona’s Back The Blue Blend with filtered water—you’ll taste the difference.
